“ We came on a Sunday afternoon and inside was lively and bustling. We ordered first then received a number and chose where to sit. For drinks, we had the coconut latte and it was so smooth and creamy. Coconut is a hit or miss for me and this was definitely a hit and well sweetened. Té helado came in a huge mason jar, had of a good balance of orange & mango, and was refreshing. For food, the tostones con queso were slightly crispy with melted cheese on top and it tasted so good. I also drizzled the orange sauce at the table and it added a nice kick. The tripleta sandwich was packed with three meats (roast pork, ham, thinly sliced steak) as the name suggests along with other fixings and we opted for fries. We also tried the bistec encebollado with rice, salad, black beans, and sweet plantain. The steak was thin and well seasoned and the onions were perfectly sautéed where it still had a slight crunch to it. The orange sauce went well with this too. Servers came by multiple times and asked if they could take our plates before actually taking them. Everything was so delicious, 5/5 no notes. The dishes are reasonably priced for the amount of food given. We were so full and since we came mid afternoon we weren't even hungry for dinner. There are so many dishes to choose from and I would definitely visit when I'm in the area again, highly recommend!! ”
“ Sol Food always hits the spot! I've enjoyed having them located in Petaluma as I use to make the trek to their San Rafael location. My go to order is the Vegetariano combo, which is the perfect mix with flavor-packed pink beans, fluffy white rice, mixed greens, avocado and your choice of fried or garlic plantains. They have a signature piquie sauce they make in house. This combo is simple ingredients but makes for a delicious meal. The Limonada Fresca sparkling limeade is a must try! The staff is usually pretty attentive, and the service is speedy. I've had a couple times where my food is ready at the takeout counter, but yet they don't call my name, so it is just sitting there. The ambiance is nice and bright and they have a decent amount of seating indoors as well as outdoors. ”
“ I learned about Sol Food about 20 minutes before my wife and I ran over. We had 6pm reservations down the street and we got to the area around 5pm..... Did we have time to try Sol Food? We made a mad dash to this joint and ordered the Pollo Al Horno (tender delicious braised chicken thigh- boneless skinless), white rice, crispy garlic plantain, sweet caramalized plantain, black beans and a fresh salad. The price for a 2-thigh order of this and some pink beans on the side was like $24? Not bad at all. You order, are given a flag to take to the table and they bring your food out to you. The chicken was tender and delicious. Nicely trimmed without any large chunks of fat and no bones or cartilage pieces were missed. Nice puerto rican spices, heavy on fresh herb flavors and overall a nice change from some of the other heavy options for entrées while eating out on vacation. The rice was exactly what you'd expect. Decent rice. It was a great vehicle for the traditional black beans or the pink beans. The pink beans had some olives, onions and maybe peppers? It was really tasty. Both beans were a nice texture and it felt good to eat something with some fiber in it. You can make a very healthy wholesome meal here if you want. Oh and we got out of here in like, 30 mins flat and that's only because my wife eats much slower than I do. From ordering, to getting our food and eating it was smooth easy and we made it to our other reservation to meet our family. I loved it. It was nutritious, not trying to do too much, and delivered simple, delicious, well executed flavor. Don't expect to be wowed by a breath taking space. It's a wide open industrial feeling kitchen area. Picture you're going into one of those cool garage-converted breweries with a food counter and a kitchen. It's nice in there, but it's not fancy. Exactly what I like sometimes. These types of places aren't trying to fool you, just give you a good meal. ”

“ Came here after my sons basketball game on a Thursday dinner time and it was busy. They have two seperate line one for takeout/phone order and the other is for dine. After ordering your food in the dine in line you go and find an open seat and they will bring your food out to you. The line did go pretty fast. The restaurant it self is pretty big so seating was not not an issue. They also have outdoor seating available. We have been here a few times and its a family favorite. We get Bistec Encebollado with beans, fries, half sweet plantains and half fried garlic tostones and we also got cubano sandwich. Everything was amazing as usual. Food came out super fast too. I already can't wait to go back!! ”
“ I love Sol food! Best Puerto Rican food in Sonoma county! I love the freshness and food is always bursting with flavor! The service is always great too! I love this Petaluma location because it is spacious and I'd love to eat outside by the beautiful fountain. ”
“ I love Sol Food! My brother and I stopped by for lunch and both got the pollo al horno plate. Ordering is super easy and the employees are friendly. I like that we get to pick our own seats and there is seating both inside and outside. The food comes out pretty quickly and is absolutely delicious! The chicken is always perfectly cooked and seasoned and the servings are huge! I am also a big fan of the fried plantains. They coat them with a garlic oil that is so tasty. I would suggest sitting inside. I've gone and sat outside twice and both teams I had some wasps come greet me and try to eat my food. I know this is out of control of the restaurant but if you're scared of wasps like I am, keep it in mind! ”
